Sajeewa Salgado edged out team-mate Ashan Wanigaratne in All-Island contest. Salgado finally obtained 78,002 votes and Wanigaratna received 77,304 votes
OBSERVER-MOBITEL AWARDS: The run for the first two places (All Island) between Thurstanites Ashan Wanigaratne (74,805) and Sajeeva Salgado (74,549) is intensifying with Wanigaratne in front with a majority of 256 votes and in the Outstation contest too, Kavindu Ashan Perera (Royal, Panadura) (48,904) and Maris Stella’s Angelo Jayasinghe (47,882) the Sri Lanka Under-19 World Cup vice-captain are also in a keen tussle for the top berth in the Sunday Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest at the end of count number 22.
